Mike Olson

I started my photography journey in 2007 by purchasing my very first DSLR camera and wondering the coulees of Southern Alberta taking photos of anything and everything I could to learn and experiment on how to take a breath taking photo.

I balanced my day job with exploring and building connections in the Southern Alberta music community. Eventually, I built a strong portfolio that allowed me to become a freelance concert photographer working along side a local promoter and photographing his events. This allowed me to start building those connections with National recording artists and their respective management teams.

My creative approach is to capture the moments on and off the stage that strikes emotion into the viewer and opening the doors to what makes us all human.

For me, a basic portrait can connect with everyone different. It’s the enjoyment; the laughter; the raw emotion captured in the moment to live on for ages.Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images.
